My Most Importants

EventsActs
  • The week my family spent vacation in Las Vegas, leaving me home alone. They returned home earlier than planned, leaving me disappointed because of my ruined plan with my friends. I later learned that it was because my brother suffered from a seizure there and that if my father hadn't performed CPR on him while waiting for the ambulance, I would now have one less brother.
  • My piano recital in my preschool where I got overexcited with my dress and makeup that I ended up smearing lipstick on the back of my white dress.
  • The chickenpox I got in third grade, the week of my play in which I was supposed to star as the lead role, Annie. Though I skipped out on school and rehearsals that entire week, luckily, I was able to perform.
  • Meeting my favorite Korean singer at the time. I was jealous that she was spending more attention to my little brother than to me.
  • Wanting to hold my baby brother at the hospital though the nurse wouldn't let me. When my parents did end up letting me hold him, he threw up all over my shirt.

People
Experiences
  • My mother who always inspires me to try out new things, like the Annie musical in third grade. Because she encouraged me to try out for the musical, I was able to get the lead part.
  • My little brother, Richard, who always stresses me out but also reminds me of my blessed life
  • Three of my closest friends who never fail to lift my spirits when I am disappointed or upset about problems with my family or grades.
  • When I walked down the aisle as a flower-girl for my aunt
  • Trying to take the bus to Garden Grove with my friends to karaoke but having to walk because we took the wrong bus
ConversationsPlaces
  • The ones that my friend and I always end up having about our future (many times while sitting in a cafe or riding the bus)
  • The ones that always lead to an argument between me and my mother about my recklessness and laziness
